Michael Johnson of Investors Group Saint John presenting Stephanie Turner (President of the Saint John Volunteer Centre) with a cheque for $1000 in support of their Blitz promotion. Michael is also a member of the Volunteer Centre board of directors.
In his speaking note, Michael shared the following “It’s National Volunteer Week, and the Saint John Volunteer Centre will again be coordinating “Blitz Projects” around the city. Throughout the year, there are many local non-profits who have some needs that are going unmet, so our goal is to provide a group of volunteers to the organizations for a few hours to help fulfill these needs, which may include anything from filing to weeding or painting.
Investors Group has always taken pride in supporting the Saint John community, and is one of the big reasons why I decided to join the company a little over one year ago. Fundraising initiatives like Skate to Care in support of mental health, or the Transplant Trot in support of the Canadian Transplant Association, are just a two examples of several events we have throughout the year to support the charities and non-profits in our community. We also recognize and support National Volunteer Week each year, and it is my pleasure to announce our sponsorship of the SJVC Blitz Projects in the amount of $1,000. The bulk of this funding will be used to provide aprons for our volunteers and signage to help raise awareness for National Volunteer Week.”
