The New Brunswick Association for Community Living invites you to two free upcoming workshop being held in Saint John on February 16th.
For many New Brunswickers with a disability and their families, it can be a challenge to find and recruit support workers. Individuals and their families often receive funding or pay for support workers on their own, but struggle to find reliable and qualified support workers. A new website is being launched to address this problem.
Support Match NB is a free website designed to connect individuals and families with support persons in their community. These matches will bring people together so that individuals can be active participants in their communities and live meaningful lives. This is a brand new website that will launch in February 2017 and be piloted in the Saint John area.
On February 16th the NB Association for Community Living will be hosting two workshops to introduce Support Match NB and give a tutorial on how to use the website. The workshops will take place at the Saint John Public Library in Market Square. The first workshop from 2pm-4pm will be for support workers, disability organizations and community organizations wanting to learn more about the website. The second workshop from 6pm-8pm will be for individuals with a disability and families who would like to find and recruit workers through the website.
