NOON NUGGET May 27th – Creating and Maintaining a Strong Board

child_learnThis noon nugget will explore how to build a strong and effective board of directors and how to maintain that board.  This session should be of interest to anyone who is serving on a board of directors or plans to serve in the future and to those who work with a board ie executive directors or management staff of non profit agencies.

Betty Hitchcock is well known in Saint John for her involvement with numerous agencies.  Betty was a National Staff Member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada and facilitates numerous training events with various agencies within the City of Saint John and surrounding areas. 

A volunteer of the Saint John Volunteer Centre for 30+ years, she has served as a Board member and as Board President.  Currently Betty is a trainer with the Volunteer Centre and also a member of the Education Committee of the Volunteer Centre, sharing her extensive experience in Board Development and Management in the non-profit sector.

Betty’s other volunteer jobs have been with the United Way of Greater Saint John, Provincial committee on Mentoring, Canadian Cancer Society, Nurses Christian Fellowship and the NB Pastoral Institute.
